We at Circle A Kitchen would love any form of support we can get. If you have money you can donate but not time, that is okay! We will use any funds we get for the growing of a Real Food movement that will feed those in need. The Goal of the Circle A Kitchen
We provide our services with the intent to realize a dream. This dream is to have donation based raw food retreats and healing centers all over the world (starting with our own backyards!) This model is based upon the sustainable example set by Vipassana mediation retreats. By providing the retreat for free we enable people from all backgrounds to come and be emerged in the healing community that they need to overcome their ailments. After people have completed their time at the retreat they are free to give us a donation based upon what they feel they have earned from the experience. Donations are not required, however. Instead of offering money some people come back to the retreats year, after year, to volunteer their time. To make our dream a reality we are providing our public health services so that we can find a land base for the retreat as well as plant fruit trees, vegetable crops and purchase the food we will need for the time that our trees will be growing. Scholarship to attend Raw and Living Spirit Retreat - Mollala, OR and Benefit Raw Dinner to Create Scholarship - Portland, OR
The Circle A Kitchen, a raw vegan collective in Portland, OR. will be hosting a benefit dinner in Portland, OR, on Friday July 31st, from 7-9pm outside at Mirador Community Store, to create a scholarship to send one lucky individual to the Raw and Living Spirit Retreat in Mollala, OR from August 27th - 31st. Tickets for the dinner are $10- $20 sliding scale donation.
The winner of the scholarship will be based upon three main requirements, which are a financial need, a healing need, and a willingness to commit to an 80% + raw vegan diet for 30 days after the retreat, with Circle A Kitchen serving as a support network for this 30 day period.
The menu for the dinner will be posted on the Circle A Kitchen Website this Sunday. Applications for the scholarship will also be being sent my email on Sunday and after. All applications for the scholarship must be in by August 1st. The winner will be announced August 5th. Reservations for the benefit dinner must be made by July 27th.
